Schoolboy/girl Round Up
It was an action packed weekend for our Schoolboys/girls with the majority of our teams in action.
First up were our U10’s for the Town team remarkably we haven’t even seen January out yet and this was their last league game of the season coming off the back of the unluckiest result of the season Tullamore the previous week, the lads bounced back to put Kilbeggan to the sword with a fantastic display. The hard pressing Kilbeggan side tried their best to cope with the accuracy of Tullamore's passing shone. First half goals from Francis and Aaron gave the boys a deserved lead. The 2nd half saw the boys continue to dominate possession and territory. Ryan Fenlon chipped in with 2 goals from midfield, the 2nd created by some individual brilliance from Odi. Special mentions Jack Daly and Jake. Man of the match Jacko.
Our U10 United side travelled to Banagher and despite a breave performance lost out 2-0 to a very good home side.
U11s major beat Mountmellick 2-0.With an early kick off away from home Tullamore started this game slowly but as the game went on Tullamore took control with a goal either side of half time. Some good football was played by both sides but Tullamore proved to strong for the home side.
The U11 United side battled hard but ultimately a stronger Kinnegad side took control of the game to win by 3 goals to nil against a gallant home side
The U12's advanced to the semi's of the Midland Cup with a 3-1 win away to Naas Town. Having won the 1st leg 4-2 prior to Christmas the lads were hoping to creating scoring opportunities and despite going 1 down early on managed to go 3-1 up by h/t with goals from David Trainor, Charlie Mitchell & Michael Ada. Once more the lads dug deep and showed great spirit & enthusiasm & can now focus on the last 32 national cup tie v Leeds of Cork next Saturday.
Our U12 United side were at home to Mullingar Lions and despite battling hard came out on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline but credit to the lads in that they never dropped their heads and fought right to the end of the game
Tullamore’s U13 travelled to Portlaoise in the league on sat and without their regular keeper who is out injured. Jack Coyne took over in goals. The home side got a great start taking the lead after only a minute with a great header. The lads worked hard but conceded a second to make it 2-0. With Coyne inspired in the goals great skill and a super strike from Mike Fox got Tullamore back in the game with a great goal just before the break. Alex Thompson, Corey White, Sam Toya and Mark Bolton were outstanding in defence, half way through the second half the home side got a third goal an the writing seemed on the wall for the lads. With time running out the impressive Nikita Spalova made it 3-2, Tullamore midfield worked their socks off and with time just up got the 3rd goal to level it. A great team performance but MOTM was Corey White.
The U13 United side were idle
The U14’s united side were in league action away in Mountmellick and got off to a good start to go 1 nil up then within 5 min, they score then after one of our defenders got injured, it was physical game but both teams went for the win but a mistake in the last few min cost us, all of the team put in a big effort and battle hard. We were beaten 3-2 and goal scorers were Dean McNamee and Patrick Jonas also speedy recovery to Ian Felicio who was injured on Saturday.
Our U15’s were idle as star man Joe Dwyer was on International duty in Kerry with the Irish U15 side against Scotland
Our U16’s took on Kildare side Kill Celtic in the first leg of the Midland Cup, a very even game was decided but a moment of brilliance by the Kill striker with an over head kick to seal a 2-1 victory for the visitors. The lads should have confidence heading to Kill for the next leg as Kill had their keeper to thank on numerous occasions for denying the home side.
The U18 girls played out a goalless draw with neighbours Killeigh, but the goirls will be rueing missed chances in there last two games that may have lead to three points instead of just the one.
Pride of place at the weekend goes to our U14 side who made the long trip west to play Manulla of Mayo in the last 32 of the SFAI National Cup. The lads started well and within minutes of kick off had a chance from Kalvin Fenlon but a good save by the Maulla keeper denied the away side. Tullamore had the best of possession in the first half when Bryon Martin had a few chances to score. But the Manulla keeper was keeping the Tullamore lads at bay. Then a great ball from Josh Colsh Evans on the left picked out Bryon who slotted the ball home to put the Tullamore lads one up. Ten minutes later from a Tullamore corner Manulla broke from defence and scored an equaliser to make it 1-1 at half time. In the second half Tullamore had the better chances keeping the Manulla keeper busy with shots from Jack Kenny, Ben Connolly and Ciaran Egan, But with 3 mins to go Bryon got a great ball from Jack Kenny before turning the defender and buried it into the corner of the net to secure a great win. Overall it was a great performance by all of the lads and the now face a trip to Dublin to face Belvedere in the next round.
Well done to all involved this weekend!

Happy New Year
2014 had highs and lows for the club, we celebrated winning the Tom Cullen Cup final in May, but 2014 will be remembered most for losing one of the best young players we ever had in our club in the gentleman that was Mark Casey, we know he continues to look down on us and play a part in our good run this season, so while we look forward to the new year we also must look back and remember all those who are no longer with us, with that We would like to wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year
Training for Senior and youths teams tomorrow and Monday from 10 till 4, let managers know if ye can't make it.
We would like to wish all our managers, players, parents and supporters a very Happy Christmas!

KO is at 7.45 so why not wrap up well and come out and support the lads tonight in what should be a very entertaining and hard fought game. Best of luck to Tony, Shane and all the lads, Come on the Town!!!
Great to see Irish legend Kevin Kilbane in our club tonight. He spent his time giving photo opportunities to the kids!
Schoolboy/girl Round Up
The weekends Schoolboy/girl action was a mixture of league and Midland Cup action.
First up were our U10 Town team who played the Mullingar Kestrals side in Leah Victoria Park and were pretty dominant in a 6-0 victory
After a few weeks of bad luck the lads finally got a result closer to what their performances deserved. Tullamore led 4-0 at half time thanks to some great play which was finished of by Odi twice, Francis and Jack Donnegan. Jack Daly was unlucky with a great header which thundered off the bar. The 2nd half saw 5 changes but no dip in form as the boys continued to dominate. Goals from Ryan Fenlon and Jack Daly sealed the win, with Jacko G hitting the bar twice in his efforts to open his seasons account without much luck. Agbos audacious attempt at an overhead kick was the highlight of the half. This was a great all round team performance with stand out performances from Agbo, Odi and Niall Furlong, but the Man of the match award went to Jack Daly.
Our U11 sides were both in league action, our Town team made the short journey to Clara and has been the case on more than one occasion this year the luck deserted them ad the lost out 1-0. The United team who are still finding their feet in the league after only being formed a few weeks ago put up a brave performance in losing 3-0 at home to a talented Portumna team
The U12 town side made a winning start in the 1st round 1st leg of the Midlands Cup v Naas Town. Going 2 down early on the lads managed to draw level by half time with strikes from David Trainor and Alex Egan but not before goalkeeper Michael Ada made a fine save to prevent the score being 3-0. The same 2 players doubled their days tally early in the 2nd half. The defence of John Furlong, Michael Abo, Anthony Troy & Calum Murrihy tightened up but Naas can consider themselves unlucky not to have had a third goal from a great strike by their left winger who was a threat throughout. The midfield trio of Kian Banissadi, Charlie Mitchell & the exceptional Alex Egan controlled the game in Tullamore's favour. Front trio of Daire McDaid, David Trainor & Coleby Clear kept the Naas defence on their toes throughout. Subs John McDonagh & Cameron Evans got up to the pace of the game when introduced and the tie is nicely set up for the return leg. Credit to both teams for playing an entertaining match.
The U13 United side travelled to Mullingar Athletic where they came up against a very strong home team and although the had some good spells it was ultimately the home team who got on top and ran out 4-1 winners.
Our U14 town team made the trip to Nenagh in the Midlands cup, The lads had
most of the possession in the first half, and the pressure finally told when Ben Connolly scored with a shot just from outside the box. Kalvin Fenlon themn got on the scoresheet when got the ball on the wing beat the right full and the centre half and buried the ball into the corner of the net to make it 2-0. Nenagh had a couple of chances from their number 9 who was dangerous all game. In d second half about 10 mins gone Nenagh's number 9 scored from a through ball and took his goal very well. This seemed to spur the Tullamore lads into life and they started to get on top after conceding the goal. Jack Kenny and Ben Connolly got to grips again in midfield and great play from Ben to pick out Jack who put a perfect through ball into the path of Kalvin who gave their keeper no chance of saving it to make it 3-1. Liam Dillane came on as a sub and his first shot on target was parried by the Nenagh goalkeeper into the path of Jack Kenny who stuck his shot into the back of the net to make it 4-1. That was the way it finished. This was a tremendous all round team performance from the lads as has been the case in all of their games this season.
Our U14 United side are also making waves this season and they proved how strong the club is at this particular age group by beating Willow Park 7-0 at home on Saturday, Dean McNamee x 2, Patrik Jonas with a hattrick, Roland Adebowale and Dean Carroll were the scorers but this was another excellent all round team performance and their seventh win on the trot, Kepp it going lads!
The last game of the weekend saw our U16 girls travel to Mullingar Athletic in the U16 7-a-side division, the girls maintained the 100% record in the division winning comfortably, Ava Gowran, Muireann McDaid, Sinead Farrell and Sarah Bracken were all on target for the girls.
The U13’s, 15’s and 16’s games were all off.
Well done to all involved in games over the weekend
Our LSL side travel to Dublin today to play Glenmore - Eblana Afc in their last away league fixture before the Christmas break. KO is 11am, best of luck lads!
Tomorrow's CCFL game v St Peters is OFF
Big thanks to Ken and all at PJ Grennan Quality Foods for their kind sponsorship of a set of Jerseys for our Womens team! So ye all know where to get all yere Turkeys for Christmas!!!
Another busy weekend of schoolboy/girl action saw the SFAI National Cups take centre stage,
First up were our U14 team on Saturday who played Kilcock Celtic at Leah Victoria Park. In a very encouraging first half Tullamore made the opposition keeper work on a few occasions making saves from Bryon martin and Kalvin Fenlon. Ben Connolly was also denied from a free kick. Kalvin rounded the visitor’s keeper and look certain to score only for a tremendous tackle to deny the Tullamore lads the lead. It was 0-0 at half time. At the beginning of the second half byron put Town in the lead after he latched on to a through ball from ben Connolly. ryan power came on for matthew keegan and scored with his first touch to make it 2-0. With 10 mins to go ben picked the ball up in midfield and played a great ball splitting the defence he picked out Kalvin who took it in his stride and buried it low to the net to seal the victory. The lads all played well but Thomas Boyle and Jack Kenny stood out for the home team who progress to the open draw last 32 of the competition.
Our U13’s travelled up to Donnybrook in Dublin to take on Beechwood FC in the fourth round of their national cup competition. Tullamore found themselves one down after two minutes from a corner. But that early set back seemed to spark Tullamore in to life and the lads played some super stuff after falling behind. A great shot from Jay Sheerin was well saved. Jack Coyne, Corey White, Sam Toya and Mark Bolton were solid at the back for Tullamore. The lads went in one-nil down at the break despite playing all the football. Then in the 2nd half town went goal crazy with Dan Fox hitting a hatrick, Jay Sheern scored from a corner and Corey White netted with a header. Adam Moore and Josh Mills put in a great shift on both wings. Michael Fox and Nikita Spovla never gave Beechwood any time on the ball all day. Eoin McCarty, Eoin Sheerin, Alex Thompson and Sam Bello all played superbly well for Tullamore when they came on. Town keeper had little to do all game after the early goal. The lads will be looking for a home draw in the last 32 open draw, Tullamore Captain Sam Toya had an outstanding game but the man of the match award went to hatrick hero Dan Fox
Well done to our U13 and U14 sides who join our U12’s in the last 32 of their respective cups
In Midlands Schoolboy League action our U10’s mad the short trip to The Pond in Killeigh but came out the wrong side of a 4-3 scoreline in an end to end game. Our U11 West division side travelled to Kinnegads and came up against a strong home side losing out by 4 goals to 1.
Our U12 side got back to winning ways in the league with a 7-0 victory over Abbeyleix. Highlight of the day was a hat trick by David Trainor. Also on the scoresheet were Alex Egan, Kian Banisaddi & both substitutes Cameron Evans & Coleby Clear. Goalkeeper Diarmuid Egan also made a fine one handed save when called upon following a well delivered corner in the first half. Central Defenders Anthony Troy & Michael Abo coped admirably throughout while both full backs John Furlong & Calum Murrihy combined defending & attacking. Furlong having won a penalty from another raid down the right saw his effort excellently saved by the Abbeyleix keeper. Charlie Mitchell & Michael Abo continue to increase their understanding on the left. Daire McDaid gave another whole hearted and unselfish display that always causes problems.
Our U12 west side travelled to Mullingar and were narrowly defeated 2-1 by the Mullingar’s Cub side. Our U13 Div 1 side made the short journey to Clara where they went goal crazy thrashing the home side by 14 goals to nil.
Our U15 side defeated Mullingar Athletic 4-1 two goals from Daniel Tolbert gave town a 2-0 halftime lead. Despite squandering a numerous chances in the second half Tullamore looked in control until a Mullingar goal from a free kick five minutes from time looked to be coming back to haunt us. But Sean Lynch restores the two goal lead with an smashing dipping strike from the edge of the area and James Mullen sealed the victory with the fourth just on the stroke of full time.
The U16 side played Killeigh away in The Pond and maintained their 100% start to the season by defeating the home side 4 goals to 1.
Our U18 Girls were also in action in The Pond but unfortunately they were unlucky to come away without any points losing 3-2 to their neighbours
Well done to our U14's yesterday and U13's today who won their respective SFAI cup games to reach the last 32 of the competitions, this means we have three teams in the open draw stages. Well done to all, match reports will follow later!
Our LSL side are in Leinster Junior Cup action tonight when they play Athy Town, KO at Leah Victoria Park is 7.45, best of luck lads!
LSL Sunday Major: CYM Terenure 0-0 Tullamore Town
CCFL Premier Division: Abbeyleix Afc 4-0 Tullamore Town
CCFL Women's Division: Tullamore Town 1-0 Clara Town FC Holly Ravenhill with the goal.
Narrow defeat for Joe and the Ireland U15's
FAI U15 Squad
Best of luck tomorrow Joe and for the rest of the week in Poland. The Club are very proud of your achievements!
Schoolboy/girl Round Up
The schoolboy/girl program at the weekend was decimated by the weather conditions but the games which did go ahead proved to be successful in the main for our teams.
First up were our U12’s who were in national cup action against local rivals Mullingar Athletic. It was very strong Mullingar side who boast has no less than 8 players in the last 30 of the MSLeague Emerging Talent Program and an excellent goal keeper, however on a day when the rain may have caused a problems, the pitch at Leah Victoria Park was in great condition considering the amount of rain which fell over night, both sides played out an exciting game of football and it’s a great credit to both sets of coaches that the two teams played so well. Tullamore came out on top thanks to two goals from Alex Egan. The lads are now in the last 32 of the competition which is now an open draw from all regions of the country!
Our U13’s took on Esker Celtic from Dublin in round 3 of their national cup also in Leah Victoria Park, with Esker unbeaten in their league, Tullamore knew it was going to be a tough game. With only 5 minutes gone, after a great run by Eoin McCarthy Tulllamore won a corner, A great delivery from Jay Sheerin saw the ball fall to Corey White and he made no mistake to put Tullamore 1 up. Within 2 minutes Tullamore were 2 up when U13 top marksman Nikita Spavola made it 2.0 to take his goal tally to 10 this season. Then the Esker fight back began and began to get a stranglehold on the game and got 2 quick goals to make it 2-2. A great save from town keeper Ruairi Daly made sure it stayed that way until halftime. Tullamore began the second half brightly and took the game to esker from the start. A great ball from Dan Fox was met by Jay Sheerin who’s super header at back post put Town back in front at 3-2. The home side were award a penalty moments later and again Tullamore’s excellent midfielder Sheerin stuck the peno away to make it 4-2. Jack coyne, Tullamore captain Sam Toye, Mark Bolton, Corey White kept Esker at bay with some terrific defending and Mike Fox and Eoin McCarthy put in great shift, working for their teammates, then Josh Mills Alex Thompson and Sam Bello all came on for town and did very well.
A goal for Esker make it 4.3 and a nervous final few minutesfor Tullamore, but a string of great saves from Daly in the goals meant there was now way back for the Dublin side. A terrific team performance, but the Man of the Match went to Tullamores outstanding Keeper Ruairi Daly. Tullamore now travel to Dublin in the next round to take on Beechwood to see who progresses to the last 32.
On Sunday our U14’s travelled to Rathcoole Boys to try to make it a clean sweep of wins in the national cups this weekend. They didn’t disappoint coming away with a 5-1 over the hosts. The lads were 2 up ant half time and controlled the game for long periods. In a great team performance, the goals came from Jack Kenny, Ciaran Egan, Byron Martin and two from Kalvin Fenlon who made a miraculous recovery from an elbow injury to make the game. Tullamore are now home to Kilcock Celtic in the next round with the winners progressing to the last 32.
Our U15’s were the only side in league action at the weekend when they travelled to Athlone to play St Josephs. Missing Joe Dwyer who was away on International duty with the Ireland U15’s Tullamore lost out by 3 goals to 1
Our U18 girls were in Leinster Cup action when the took on a very strong St Josephs side from Dublin, While the girls put in a brave performance it wasn’t enough as they lost out by 3 goals to nil. The girls can be very proud of the performance , this team is made up of girls who are only just over age for U16 and some U16 players as well, so it will be a good experience for the girls for next season.
The good run of results in the SFAI National Cups continued today when our U14's made it three wins from three in the competitions with a 5-1 away win over Rathcoole Boys. Well done lads!
Great wins in the SFAI cups this morning for our U12 and U13 sides, U12's beat Mullingar Athletic 2-0, while the U13's had a nail biting 4-3 win over Esker Celtic from Dublin, reports from both games and the result of the LWFA Cup game between our U18 Girls and St Josephs of Dublin later, well done to all involved
Senior Round Up
Our Senior teams were also in action over the weekend, however our LSL side were due to play on Friday night but the opposition failed to show. Our U17 side got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win away to Willow Park, Johnpaul Casey, David English and David Buckley were the Tullamore scorers. This morning our CCFL side also got back to winning ways with an impressive 3-0 win over Abbeyleix Athletic. Playing against the strong wind in the first half we were happy t...o soak up any Abbeyleix pressure and break on the counter attack, however it was a different story in the second half as we took control of the game and when Keith O Connor was taken down in the box Shane Dolan made no mistake form the penalty spot before adding a second 10 minutes later. Barry Walsh is in contention for goal of the season when he hit a terrific strike from all of thirty yards into the bottom corner of the net five minute from time to put the game beyond doubt. Our CCFL side have not gotten the results their performances have deserved this season but hopefully today's performance will give the lads the belief they can get better from here till the end of the season. Finally our women's team were disappointed to lose out at home to Bealnamulla today Ali Lenehan got the only goal in a 3-1 defeat, but this young squad will be looking to improve on today's performance over the coming weeks!
Schoolboy/girl Round Up
Another busy weekend of Schoolboy/girl Action kicked off with our U10’s drawing 2-2 at home to Mullingar Falcons, in a tight 1st half between two teams who moved the ball well and kept good shape led to limited chances. Ryan Fenlon was unlucky as his effort dragged just wide of the left post. In the last chance of the half a great last ditch tackle from Odhran Galvin denied Mullingar their best chance. It came at a cost as Odi had to come off injured. Mullingar hit the ground running in the 2nd half and went 2 up in the 1st 10 mins. Francis hit the post and the bar as Tullamore upped the pressure. Tullamore changed to a 2-4-2 with Aaron Longworth pushing into midfield. Straight away Aaron followed in a great low cross to make it 2-1 with 5 minutes to go. As the pressure built Jacko went close with 2 efforts before Captain Ryan Kenny scored a great last minute goal to epitomise his teams great resilience and belief as Tullamore finished out a great game on top. Our U10 United game away in Clara was called off.
Next up were the U11’s who drew 1-1 with Abbeyleix in a repeat of last seasons U10 Cup final,Great performance by both teams. Good football and determination showed by tullamore lads who could argue they deserved more from the game. Our U12 collected another valuable 3 points away to Mullingar Cougars. 2 early goals from Michael Ade & David Trainor allowed the team settle into the game with David adding a third with a great strike just inside the box before h/t and Michael doubling his tally when rounding the keeper in the 2nd half. Man of the match Daire McDaid scored a great 5th when cutting in from the right & Colby Clear finished from close in rounding off a solid team performance. Both of our U13 sides were idle. The U14 Town side’s game was also off while the U14 United had a great 4-0 win against Mullingar Hawk, A third clean sheet including a penalty save for keeper Jake Halferty and two goals from Dean McNamee and a goal each for Dean Carroll and Patrik Jonas but the Man of the Match award went to the excellent Ian Felicio
Our U15’s lost 2 1 to Portlaoise in a game we should have killed off before we got done by 2 late goals in the final 3 minutes Ireland U15 International Joe Dwyer got the Tullamore goal, there was also excellent performances from Ciaran Burns and Sean Lynch.
The U16’s who are top of their league had a comfortable win over Rosenallis with Shawn Byrne scoring twice and Jamie Ballesty also grabbing a brace before Thomas Britton headed the fifth from a great cross by Dylan Lowry
Performance of the weekend belongs to our Girls U16 team who March on to the semi final me the Leinster cup after a hard fought battle against Drogheda side Walshestown FC. Playing against a very strong wind the blues were 1 down approaching half time when Ava Gowran stepped go off the left wing to score go the bottom corner. In the second half it was all one way traffic and the goals duly arrived with Rebecca Conlon, Meave Green and Mairead Walsh scoring to give Tullamore a 4-1 victory. Its been a fantastic season so far for both the girls teams with the under 16 and 18s sitting top of their respective league tables.
Well Done Everyone!!!

CCFL Youths And U17 Results:
U17 Division:- Longford Town 1-1 Tullamore Town David Buckley
Another busy day for our underage teams today. Our U10 town team travelled to Mullingar Athletic and in a tough game in windy conditions against a very strong home side saw Tullamore go a goal down to a wind assisted free kick early on. After some good pressure Captain fantastic Ryan Felon equalised. With the wind in the 2nd half Tullamore dominated and went 2-1 up thanks to Jack Daly. Ryan Kenny then reached double figures for the season with another 2 as Tullamore created c...hance after chance so see out the game. Our U10 United team travelled to Birr Town and were unlucky to come out on the wrong side of a 2-1 defeat. The U11 town side travelled to Killeigh for a 9.30 KO, this early start didn't seem to suit our lads as they lost 1-0 to their local rivals. Our newly formed U11 United side played their first game this morning at home to Kinnegad but unfortunately lost but these lads will get stronger as the season goes on. Tullamore U12's resumed league action with a 6-0 win over Mountmellick with centre back anthony troy settling the side down with the opener inside the penalty box and his partner john furlong closing the game out with a fine curling shot in the 2nd half. In between Charlie Mitchell capped a fine individual display with a hat trick and Michael Adebowale crashed a great strike to the net. A good win for a bunch of lads who worked hard for each other. The U12 United side gave their all in a defeat to neighbours Kilbeggan. The U13's made the trip to Emo and came away with all 3 points after an entertaining game finished 4-3 Nikita Savopal, Jay Sheeran with 2 put the lads 3 up bit Emo fought back to make it 3-2 but a penalty converted by Josh Mills made it 4-2 before a penalty for Emo made it 4-3 and a nervy finish for us but the lads saw it out! Tullamore Utd U13 showed great heart and determination despite losing 4-1 away to kilbeggan. Man of the match was James Troy. The U14's and U15's were idle. Our U16 side continued their good league form with a comprehensive 6-2 away win over Portlaoise. Our U16 girls narrowly defeated Emo Celtic 2-1 at Leah Victoria Park in the 7-a-side division and some of these girls played their part in our U18 girls win in their derby game against a gallant Mucklagh side. Well done to everyone involved in today's games!
After 5 away games in a row, 5 wins also, and after our win last Sunday over AUL Premier League Leaders, St Paul's Artane, our LSL side are at home tonight in Polikoff Cup action. HartstownHuntstown Fc Senior are the visitors to Leah Victoria Park. The lads are on a great run of form this season and will be looking to continue that tonight. So why not come up and show the lads your support, KO is 7.45pm, best of luck lads!

Impressive Away Win
Our LSL side came away from Portlaoise with 3 points tonight after a magnificent game of football in which the two evenly matched teams fought hard for the 90 minutes. It was a great all round performance from our lads and the game was decided by a wonderful 20 yard strike from Brian Gill 11 minutes into the second half. We had chances to increase the lead but we were grateful in the end when a la...te Portlaoise equaliser was correctly ruled out for handball after the Portlaoise striker punched the ball to the net.
