Important win for LSL Side
Tullamore Town had an impressive 4-2 win away to title challengers Dublin University in Ballymun this morning, Town went a goal down after seven minutes but were level after fiftenn minutes thanks to a bullet header from Shaun Martin, Tullamore fell behind again just after the half time break but rallied agin in the 59th minute to equalise through James Carthy, Johnny Smith then put Tullamore in front as Town should a tremendous spirit and grabbed a fourth just on 90 minutes through Shane Delaney. This was a great result for Tullamore and their performances of late have seen them pull away for relegation troubles and will now be lookin to finish in the top half of the table.
Our U18 side lost out to a last minute goal from Abbeyleix Athletic in the CCFL U19 Cup today. It was heaqrbreak for the lads as the game looked to be heading for extra time. It was a good performance from the U18 side but as with all semi finals it is only the winners who will be remembered.

It was a mixed weekend for our teams with pride of place going to our CCFL Division 1 side who reached the final of the Michael Dolan Cup thanks to a hard fought 1-0 win over Longford side Camlin United. This was a tough game played in blustery conditions and Town have Pa Gorman to thank as his 65th minute strike was enough to win the game
Our LSL side slipped to a last minute defeat to table toppers Swords Celtic, in a game played in a gale force wind Tullamore took the lead in the first half when James Carthy capitalised on some poor defending to head home and that remained the score at HT. Swords pressed form the begining of the second half and were level on 55 minutes whe a quick free kick caught the Tullamore defence napping and the Swords striker scored with ease. With the game heading for a desrved draw Swords broke down the wing and whn the cross held up on the stong wind the Swords striker was on hand to head th ball to the Town net and secure all three points for the Dublin side,
Our U19 were unlucky to lose to St Patricks Athletic in their LFA U19 Cup Semi Final, a first half own goal by Tullamore was cancelled out thanks to a Daniel Crowley Strike but as both sides pressed for more goals it was the Inchicore side who took the lead on 75minutes and as Tullamore looked for an equaliser imn the dying seconds of the game, St Pats scored on the break after Town threw everything at a corner kick including the Goalkeeper. This shouldn't take away from the great achievement of reaching the last four of a provincial competition. Well done to all involved!

FAI Cup win overshadowed by injury to young striker
Great win for our LSL side tonight over a very good WFTA side. However the win was somewhat overshadowed by the news that young striker MacDarragh O'Neill who grabbed two goals tonight has broken his ankle. We would also like to wish a speedy recovery to the WFTA goalkeeper who suffered a suspected dislocated hip.

Mixed Bag for Our Youths Sides
Today's Youths Results:
U19 Tullamore Town 9-0 Mountmellick United
U18 Edenderry Town 2-0 Tullamore Town
Mixed day for our youth sides, a week is a long time on football as the U19's put nine goals past a Mountmellick side who only last Saturday held the Rullamore lads to a one all draw. And it even took a late equaliser to secure the point. Tullamore got their title challenge back on track today thanks to this comfortable win.
Our U18 side travelled to Edenderry, which is always a tough place to get anything out of. However the lads tried hard but ultimately went down by two goals to nil.

Disappointment for our CCFL Side
Clonaslee United 2-0 Tullamore Town
A disappointing performance from our CCFL Side this morning in Clonaslee as a lacklustre display saw Tullamore defeated 2-0. An early Clonaslee goal resulted from poor defending as the Clonaslee rounded the Tullamore keeper with ease to give the home side the lead. Tullamore never really got going for the remainder of the half which was evenly matched. As the second half progressed Tullamore seemed to be getting control of the game but again poor defending saw a ball played back across their own goal, fall to a Clonaslee player who placed the ball into the bottom corner and put the home side 2 goals to the good. The game as a contest fizzled out in the last 20 mins as Clonaslee saw the game out comfortably. Tulllamore will need to put in better performances than today's if they are to challenge in this division.
3 Wins in a Row!
Tullamore Town 3-1 Hyde Park
Our LSL side made it three wins in a row tonight thanks to a 3-1 win over a very good Hyde Park side from Balbriggan, Tullamore started brightly and could have taken the lead inside 10 minutes when Pa Gorman saw his volley fly over the crossbar when it looked easier to score. Their disappointment didn't last too long as Andy Mullen gave Tullamore the lead on 12 minutes. The game remained evenly matched through out the first half with both side playing attractive football throughout. As Hyde Park pushed for an equaliser in the second half they began to get a firm grip of the game, but some good defending and Alan O'Connell in the Tullamore goal equal to anything the Dublin side could throw at him.As the half wore on Tullamore found themselves coming under more pressure, but on 74 minutes a good counter attack found substitute Stephen Duffy one on one with the Hyde keeper and Duffy coolly slotted the ball to the bottom left hand corner and put Town 2 up. On 80 mins Hyde were thrown a lifeline when some poor defending allowed them to get one back.Tullamore's reply was immediate as the won a free kick 35 yards from goal and Trevor Moylan rifled the ball into the top right hand corner to restore Tullamore's lead. Tullamore were given the chance to wrap up the game on 88 mins when they were awarded a penalty but Trevor Moylan could not repeat his free kick and the Hyde keeper saved comfortably. This was another good performance from Tullamore against an excellent Hyde Park and the will have gained alot of confidence from the performance.

CCFL Side back to winning ways
Moate Celtic 2-4 Tullamore Town
Tullamore got back to winning ways in the Dandywell in Moate this morning thanks to a win that should have been more comfortable than it proved. Leading 3-0 thanks to goals from Jonathon Smyth, Pa Gorman and Shane Delaney, Tullamore looked to be cruising to victory but in what has been a trait of the season Tullamore shot themselves in the foot and allowed Moate back into the game conceding 2 second half goals to leave the score 3-2. Played on a quagmire of a pitch Moate went in search of an equaliser but resolute defending and some good goalkeeping from Alan O'Connell kept the home team at bay. Pa Gorman sealed the victory for Tullamore late on and the visitors went home with all 3 points.

Ladies good run of form continues:
Clara Town 0 Tullamore Town 3.
Tullamore Ladies had another good win today beating Clara 3-0 in Clara. Tullamores first goal was very well worked goal passed all the way up the pitch and when it was crossed in from the left Ali Lenehan was on hand to finish the ball to the net. Tullamore were 2-0 up shortly after when Richelle O'Neill scored directly from a corner and half way through second half Ciara Neville put the result beyond doubt when she scored from a corner which Clara failed to clear. It was once again a great team performance by all the girls. Super work by the back four and goalkeeper meant Tullamore had things under control for 90 min.

CCFL Womens Division Result:
Tullamore Town 2 Mullingar Athletic 2
Tullamore continued their good start to the season with a very good evenly matched game against last years league winners. Tullamore went 2-0 up through goals from Ciara Neville and Jenna Cornally but Mullingar got one back before half time. Tullamore had great chance to make in 3-1 just after the restart but failed to convert the chance. Mullingar scored after about ten minutes into the 2nd half. It was very evenly balanced game overall and both teams had chances to win it but 2-2 draw was probably the fairest result. Tullamore Ladies will look to push on from here and try to recapture the title they won in 2010/11.
CCFL Division 1 Result:
Tullamore Town 2 Moate Celtic 2
Tullamore's uncanny knack of conceding straight after scoring themselves reared its head again today as a first half goal from Anthony Coyne was cancelled out with in 90 seconds of the restart, and it was deja vu in the second half when Shane Delaney got on the score sheet only for Moate to equalise again within 90 seconds of the restart.
Ladies off to a flyer!
Well done to our Ladies team who got their CCFL season off to a winning start thanks to a 2-1 win over Gallen United in Ferbane today. Goals from Jenna Cornally in the first half and Ruth Monahan on the hour mark put Town 2 up. Tullamore keeper Irene Cornally saved a Gallen penalty to keep the lead intact. Gallen got one back with 10 minutes left but the Tullamore Girls held on for a deserved victory.
